Its Founder-Chairman Dr.A.P.Majeed Khan, established Noorul Islam collegr of Engineering in the year 1989. It is an ISO 9001:2000 Certified Institution with all its B.E Courses accredited by NBA, AICTE, New Delhi. The Institution is presently conducting 11 P.G Level, 9 U.G. Level Courses, Research Programmes and has now become a pioneering and prominent educaitonal institution in Tamil Nadu, that imparts technological knowledge to young students of the nation and skills to meet the requirements and challenges of modern driven world.

Electronics & Communication Engineering Department was started in the year 1989. This department has well equipped laboratories in the area of DSP, VLSI, Radio frequency, IC technology,Fiber Optics, Microwave and Satellite Communication. It has stable and experienced staff members.

Seminars, workshops, quiz competitions, National level paper contests, intra departments paper contests, group discussions, etc are being conducted every year by the department.

The department has produced good academic results every year and many of the graduates were University rank holders. Most of the passed out students were placed in central/state/private services
